Administrative Support for the Seren Cardiff Poetry Festival

Now in its fifth year, the Seren Cardiff Poetry Festival aims to place poetry from Wales and the world before a wide audience. Having previously taken place in city centre venues the festival will be held entirely online in 2021, mostly over the weekend 16 to 18 April. It will retain its format of performance, workshops and education but will extend its reach far beyond the city through live events and pre-recorded videos. It is supported by the Rhys Davies Trust.

The festival is recruiting a person to give administrative support to aid existing festival workers in the areas of performer liaison, ticketing, marketing and promotion, online delivery, and post-festival reporting – employment period: February to April 2021, inclusive.

The administrator will be responsible for:

  • timely and accurate population of the festival website;
  • contact with the media in Wales;
  • preparation and implementation of marketing of the festival and of individual events;
  • organisation of events, including liaison with participants;
  • servicing of audience enquiries, and recording of audience numbers through online ticketing;
  • analysis of all aspects of the festival.

The administrator will work alongside the Seren marketing officer and the festival director, and will report to the Seren manager. They will have proven skills in running event management particularly using Zoom, experience in promotion through social media, experience of Wordpress website maintenance, proficiency in Excel and Word and the ability to quickly learn new software (training will be provided where required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential. Due to covid restrictions the administrator will work from home, which will preferably be in Cardiff and the surrounding area, or in Wales.

Your application should include a full c.v. and a letter explaining why feel you are the person for this job. This is a unique opportunity to take part in an exciting, and growing, multi-task event. Please email: mickfelton@serenbooks.com
