Apply to join our creative hub.

We’re looking for 30 people from the Cardiff city region’s creative community to work with us over a week to create and test a new, open and supportive workspace. Join us and help inform our plans to build a creative hub in Cardiff.

We’ll give you:

-  free workspace with dedicated time to work

- the opportunity to meet people from across the creative economy

- a space to share knowledge, ideas and skills

- a diverse programme of talks and workshops

Over the week we’ll be consulting people on their ideas, needs and challenges to inform the development of a more permanent hub space.

Who is this opportunity for?

We're looking for people from right across the creative economy working freelance, in a business or organisation to come and be based in the hub for the week.

What will happen?

We want the hub participants to work with us to create a friendly, open and supportive workspace. We will programme some time for settling into the space and meeting each other, daily short talks connected to the idea of building a hub in Cardiff and some creative workshops. Across the week we'll set a task for you to work on in a small group which we'll share at the end of the week, on Friday afternoon.

We want you to help us trial ideas and to think and talk with us about what a more permanent space could be like.

How much time will I have to work?

We imagine that you will spend around 75% of your time in the hub on your own work. We want to encourage an environment in which people share, talk and support one another, but we also realise that you need to get on with your work and so the programme of activity has been designed to reflect this.

What do I need to contribute?

Working in the space is free. We will provide tea & coffee and some refresments. We hope that you will be happy to share your ideas, knowledge, skills and some of your time with others in the hub so that everyone benefits from the experience. Across the week we'll be carrying out some research into people's need for a more permanent hub and we expect that participants will be able to contribute to this.

What will the space be like?

We will provide desks and chairs, internet and printing facilities. We will also provide some meeting space. The rest is up to those in the hub to create and develop during their time working in the space.

Is this just for people working or living in Cardiff?

No, this opportunity is open to people living or working in the Cardiff city region, which is made up of ten local authorities: Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend. We hope to attract a group of hub residents from across the city region.
