Designed for those already working in or looking to move into the creative and tech industries, the week of activities will take place across Cardiff. More information and tickets can be found here. #DigiCities and @BBCAcademy also have updates.

Iain Tweedale, of the BBC’s Academy and Producer of Digital Cities said:

Digital Cities is a must for people working in the creative and tech industries not only to learn new skills and meet new people but to find new, collaborative opportunities within the growing sector in Cardiff and South Wales. Digital Cities takes place in six cities across the UK and this is the third time for the industry event to visit Cardiff. With so many free events across the city, it’s bound to be a great success again this year.

With two established conferences in Cardiff at the beginning of the week – the Creative and Cultural Skills National Conference and the Creative Cities Convention - Digital Cities week brings together people from across this dynamic and fast growing industry.

From Wednesday, 3rd April the Digital Cities workshops will begin with a day of digital workshops at BBC Wales’s broadcast centre in Llandaff. The day’s designed to give practical advice for those making digital content including meet the commissioner events and insights on audiences – how they’re changing and what they’re looking for. If you're interested in everything Virtual Reality, Creative Cardiff and Orchard are coming together for the fourth edition of Virtual Reality South Wales held in Orchard next Wednesday evening at 6pm.

Thursday, 4th April sees Cardiff University’s JOMEC centre open its doors for a day focussing on innovation in content and technology.  An opportunity to explore the challenges for storytelling in news in the digital age followed by a drop-in session to meet and get advice from professionals in the TV, film, games, animation and VFX industries. Clwstwr Creadigol, Cardiff University's five-year programme to create new products, services and experiences for screen, will be holding a workshop on innovating news and the day will end with a session on how Artificial Intelligence is being adopted by the broadcasting industry.

Activities conclude next Friday, 5th April with a business development day at Tramshed Tech, a day for and by the entrepreneurs, packed with great advice and support on how to start up and grow a successful business.
