IB Global Centre, Cardiff

The Global Communications and Branding Department oversees the IB brand and how the organization communicates this to all key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Sitting within the office of the DC, we are responsible for the all internal and external branding, marketing and communications for the IB.  Our aim is to increases awareness, engage meaningfully with our schools and students and promote the mission while safeguarding our reputation as a world leader in International Education.

Our overall aims are to increase awareness of the IB and its mission, while building our reputation as a world leader in International Education within our community and outside it. Our work celebrates the impact of our community—our staff, our students, teachers and schools.

Job Purpose:

The communications coordinator will support the Communications Manager and wider global communications and branding to offer organizational-wide support for strategic and tactical global communications planning, to write, edit and publish global, content (original/self-created and contributions from others), project manage communications with internal and external stakeholders and, where appropriate, vendors; and monitor the effect and impact of GCB communications and regularly report on this to management.

Job Duties: 

To manage and produce content as directed by the Communications Manager, to support departmental objectives, with special focus on our school communications objectives.

Support for content published in newsletters, blogs, direct email, school facing platforms and the public website.

Maintain a database of IB messaging (statements, quotes, email templates).

Develop other content as required by the Communications Manager to raise profile, engage schools, support retention and enhance IB’s reputation as a world leader in education.

Job Requirements:

•    BA degree in Media, Journalism or Communications or a related field.

•    Extensive experience in communications, ideally international.

•    Strong experience in project management.

•    Experience in using mailing clients (such as mailbuild).

•    Excellent organizational and coordination skills, pro-active, hands-on attitude.

•    Excellent team player with the ability to develop effective working relationships.

•    Excellent Written and Verbal English (native or near-native).

Desirable:

•    French or Spanish written and/or verbal skills desirable.

•    Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumni.
