Freshwater is recruiting for a Press Officer to work collaboratively with our team of marketing and communications experts to create compelling content and copy.

In this role a critical eye is required. The post holder will take the lead on the quality assurance of written work for multiple clients in the public and private sectors. In addition to strong editing skills, you will also generate engaging copy that is well-written and technically accurate.

You will need a keen news-sense, and help clients to maximise the reach of their content by developing strategic PR and media plans – making this an essential role for our organisation.

Relationship-building is also key for this role, which will see you work with client spokespeople and case studies to craft compelling statements, press releases and thought leadership to bring our clients’ stories to life.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree, or equivalent, in English or Journalism and have a background in PR, media relations or journalism. Experience in writing creative and impactful news content is a must, along with at least 4 years of press office experience and working with media partners, bloggers and journalists.

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities are all important attributes, along with demonstrating creativity, curiosity and a talent for crafting game-changing copy.
