Job Introduction

BBC Cymru Wales is looking for the next generation of documentary film makers.  Four candidates will be given the opportunity to produce and direct their first long-form documentary for BBC One Wales. 

Role Responsibility

Successful applicants will be housed for the duration of the project at either a leading production company, or their home company/department where appropriate, who will oversee the development, filming and post production of the idea. Please note that the initiative is funded for the duration of the project and this is not a staff role at the BBC.  Positions will be based in Wales.

The length of the contract will be dependent on the length of the production which could be anything from three to five months.

Are you the right candidate?

All Applications must provide a CV that demonstrates that you have the following experience:

You must have demonstrable evidence that you have experience of directing and editing content for broadcast.  Or you may have qualified (and be able to evidence your qualification – MA or post graduate) from a Film School / University / College.

You have not been credited as the single director or producer/director of a documentary of 30 minutes or longer that has been broadcast on any main UK terrestrial channel.

NB.  Candidates who have Produced, or Edit Produced a documentary, but have not combined the Producer/Director role will be considered.
