Bence Kalo is a Hungarian theatre and opera director. He obtained an MA degree in Theatre Directing from the University of Kent and in 2015 he worked with the renowned French director Ariane Mnouchkine in Oxford as a student of her travelling school, the École Nomade. His directing credits include YA’AKOBI & LEIDENTAL by Hanoch Levin (Etcetera Theatre, UK & The Cameri Theatre, Israel) and ROOTLOST by Magdalena Krohn (Applecart Arts, UK & Etcetera Theatre, UK). He worked as an Observer (Director) on RIGOLETTO (Royal Opera House, UK), Second Assistant Director on COSI FAN TUTTE (Opera Holland Park, UK) and FIRST ASSISTANT DIRECTOR on LA BOHÈME and NABUCCO (Dorset Opera Festival, UK). He is currently finishing his second year at l’École Internationale de théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
