Public relations at The Royal British Legion

Areas of expertise:

My specific area of expertise, and indeed personal interest, is project delivery, seeing campaigns through from the planning stages, through delivery, to their evaluation.

I have worked for The Royal British Legion, one of the nations leading not-for-profit organisations, for a decade and within that time I have had responsibility for both national and regional campaign delivery and have worked on 8 Poppy Appeal campaigns in that time. Prior to my time at the Legion I worked agency side, working on consumer and B2B campaigns for well know, multinational clients.

Most recently I have delivered the D-Day 75 voyage aboard the MV Boudicca, hosting national media from all major UK broadcasters and print media for the week-long trip. This resulted in widespread coverage across TV, radio and print, with significant key message cut through for the Legion.

I have experience of significant issues management from the wide-ranging increase in scrutiny on the fundraising practices and expenditure within the charity sector to specific incidents such as the FIFA Poppy ban.

I have recently completed an Institute of Leadership and Management course in Leadership and Team Skills and am a member of the CIPR.
