Areas of expertise:

Amelia ‘Unity’ Thomas grew up in rural mid-Wales. Self taught, she uses spray-paint to create murals, and combines spray with acrylic pens to produce smaller-scale work on canvas. Her work is predominantly based around lettering, with a recent focus on nature and our connection to it. She has painted live at public events including ‘Roxe Jam’, ‘Cardiff City Kings’, ‘Stokes Croft Arts Festival’, ‘Made in Roath’, ‘Femme Fierce’, ‘Kidderminster Paint Jam’, for London Calling Blog, R.S.P.B and MADE Cardiff. Recent group exhibitions include the Rise Gallery, Croydon, M.A.D.E. Gallery, Cardiff and HeARTh Gallery, Llandough Hospital. Amelia lives in Tongwynlais and works mainly in and around Cardiff.
Amelia has worked with Cardiff Council to secure the Millenium Walkway (behind the stadium) for artists of all ages to be allowed to paint freely there. She has organised a number of graffiti/street art and breakdance events including for International Women's day, R.S.P.B, and Cathays and Central Youth and Community Project, with involvement from young people from all over Cardiff.
Participatory practice includes work with Tongwynlais residents, school and community groups including for Trinity Centre, Cardiff.
