I am a qualified and experienced designer. Creative and confident at developing interior schemes or designing furniture.

My early career as a furniture designer for Christie Tyler, helped me gain extensive knowledge in manufacturing processes and costings of products within 3 different sectors of the upholstery market. It was an exciting time filled with exhibitions and foreign travel to gain trend ideas or component selection.
Branching into bathroom design (Ripples), gave me an insight into a different industry that has grown considerably in the last decade with the public wanting to achieve that high class hotel feel within their own home. Here, I was able to use my hand drawing skills as my clients preferred a more personal touch. My latter years have been spent in an interior/retail sales environment, (Maskreys and Hulsta UK), this has been a fulfilling and challenging time. The immense job satisfaction gained at helping clients to achieve their ideas within budgets set and the project management has added to my portfolio. Often dealing with outside contractors and helping advise with the installation of a range of products from soft furnishings, flooring, wall decoration to furniture, free standing and fitted. The experience with in-house CAD design packages has helped me move forward and embrace the ever changing industry.
I have a keen interest in crafting and art related projects for which I take commissions.

Having been made redundant at the end of July 2017, it has given me the chance to explore design in a more digital way. I have just completed Adobe InDesign Advanced course with certification plus introduction courses of Photoshop and Illustrator which I hope will aid my career and further it in another direction.
I am currently looking for a part time position which I would like to increase to full time when my children get older.
