Richard McReynolds is a composer and sound artist currently based in Cardiff (U.K.). Born in Belfast he left to study music at Liverpool Hope in 2008. Remaining there to complete his Masters under the tutorship of Ian Percy in 2012. He then moved to Cardiff where he is currently working on a PhD in Composition supervised by Arlene Sierra. He has had performances across the U.K. and worked with numerous student and professional ensembles.

A composer of both electronic and acoustic works his current work examines interactions in electro-acoustic music. This involves compositions for hyper-instruments and new interactive devices, graphic scoring, indeterminate composition techniques as well as looking at performance practice and the presentation of electronic music. Other avenues that are currently being explored are the combination of music with other art media in collaboration with other artists.
