Tamsin Biography:

Tamsin Griffiths is a bilingual multimedia artist who works in Film, Theatre, Visual Arts & Sound to create topical work that questions and challenges perceptions, particularly around the subject of mental health.
Tamsin is fascinated by film and documentary, developing her practice in this art form since 2015.
Most recently she co-wrote / directed and performed in an Avant-Garde arts film; ‘3 words’ . This film explores the effect on a woman with mental health issues when she is asked to describe herself in three words. This film is currently touring nationally to multiple art venues across Wales in ‘On The Edge’ Festival.
Since 2014, Tamsin has performed in film and theatre as a dancer, gymnast / acrobat, physical theatre performer and stunt artist.  In 2015 Tamsin was commissioned by Arad Goch Theatre to devise and direct a one woman show; ‘Harddwch Yn Y Geek’ / ‘Beauty In The Geek’ - a physical theatre production based on body image and self acceptance. The show was developed and selected by Arad Goch Theatre and the County of Ceredigion to tour across Wales in 2016 and performed in the Opening Doors international Festival in 2019.
Arad Goch then selected Tamsin to become a resident artist at their theatre company and invested in her creative process and development. In 2016 Tamsin was funded by Arts Council Wales (ACW) and Arad Goch Theatre to work on an R&D, exploring mental health through creative writing, sound and physical movement. She wrote, devised and directed ‘This is Not The Good, The Mad and The Ugly.’
In August 2018, Tamsin performed in the Wye Valley Brewery advert ‘1985’ as an actor and free-runner / acrobat.
Collaboration is integral to Tamsin’s practice, working with inspiring film artists, writers, choreographers, visual artists, directors, producers and performers. She has directed theatre for many years, both her own work and in collaboration with others; including ‘The Ship of Fools’ - in collaboration with artist John Griffiths.  Having previously collaborated on films and film as part of live performance (‘Duvet Cover’) with Paul Whittaker, he engaged Tamsin to be Co - Director and Soundscape artist on the production of his autobiographical play, ‘Gods & Kings’ which is touring Nationally in Autumn 2019.
