“We can do no great things; only small things with great love.”

People, places, listening, layers, social connection, outsiders and hermits are of great interest to Wynne-Paton. She gathers material from places in the form of words, questions, notions, stories and rumours with a particular focus on gathering research first hand, often only with tentative links to reality, building up an archive.

In the post-digital and austerity measures British libraries have undergone major changes and often reduction, apart from Ireland. Creating live-art around the subject of libraries, not having a voice and slow thinking with the whole body, she takes her textual obsession to new levels, perhaps suggesting a library of the future.

Changes to the land – recently the most extensive roadworks in the UK are happening on the A465 around the Clydach Gorge, a historically, geologically and scientifically interesting site where she’s gathered material which she’s still building and sifting.
Working across media, the research is her material and videos, installations, live-art, paintings and prints are the result.
