Linc Cymru is a Housing Association and Care provider working across South-East Wales, offering homes for families, Extra Care and Nursing Homes. Linc has recently acquired the former Zanzibar nightclub in Newport’s Stow Hill. First built as a chapel in 1880, the location has iconic status as a hospitality venue and most recently as a popular nightclub which featured many high-profile performances. Planning consent was granted in April 2022 to build 37 apartments on the site, which has a grade II listed façade.
Linc is committed to marking the significance of the history of the site and wishes to commission arts activity to celebrate this. Linc is open to all artforms, however, a visual legacy of the project should be included in all proposals.
