Danielle Lewis

Congratulations on being nominated for the Welsh Music Prize! Can you tell us about your shortlisted album?

Thank you very much! My album 'Dreaming in Slow Motion' feels as evocative as its title and holds 10 breathtakingly tender songs written by myself and produced by Secondson completely analogue. It is a collage of my early adulthood suspended between the realms of dream and reality.

How does it feel to be nominated?

It feels amazing to be nominated and to see my album shortlisted considering the incredible standard of artists in the running. To have my music acknowledged in my homeland like this is a very proud moment.

What impact has being based in Cardiff had on your work?

Cardiff has played a hugely important role in my career from the local music industry support to the incredible musicians in the city helping me grow and create the work I've dreamed of creating. I've made lifelong connections and will be forever grateful.

What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?

I'm looking forward to exploring new material and experimenting the live side with my wonderful band.

Tell us about any upcoming gigs…

I'm concentrating on building the right team and infrastructure around me before I start thinking about what's next regarding live shows.

How can people find out more about you and your music?

You can go straight to my website www.daniellelewis.co.uk and be connected to Spotify, shows and find my physical merch such as vinyl on my Bandcamp.
