Arts Development Manager at Arts & Business Cymru

About

Participating in culture is everyone's right, this belief has driven my career. As Arts Development Manager I work with over 150 arts sector organisations to support their development and work to create the environment for them to thrive, through advocacy, and professional and orgnaisational development programmes.

I'm active across the cultural sector and involved in policy development; advocating for fundamental change to the valuation of Front of House workers, an active member of the Heritage Volunteering Group and the Museums Association.

I am a graduate of BA Archaeology and MSc Care of Collections from Cardiff University with experience working as an archaeologist, front of house worker, museum leadership and sector development. I am extensively involved in the sector, as a steering group member of the Heritage Volunteering Group and co-founder of FoHMuseums, a group established to advocate for and celebrate the work of FoH in the heritage sector.

Will Tregaskes is the recipient of the 2023 Activist Museum Award for his "inspiring leading-edge activist practice"

Will has written on the museum sector in Y Mag, the Welsh Museum Federation Magazine and the Museum Association's Museum Journal.

He has been interviewed by the Arts Fund Museum Makers Series and taken by part in the Conservation Podcast the C -Word

More recently Will worked with the Museums Association to launch the Front of House Charter Change establishing a charter to advocate for sector wide change to working with front facing workers in the museum sector and beyond.
